Synopsis
Professor Gilbert Findlay, a recently dismissed faculty member from a small, northeastern liberal arts college, returns to campus and takes hostages to whom he plans to deliver his valedictory lecture – about Dostoyevsky’s Notes From Underground. Like the Underground Man himself, Findlay is socially inept, but has a heart full of dark truth and the thwarted desire to inspire his favorite student to greater heights.
